What Will Be Updated In Quality Of Life In Diablo 4 Season 7?

Diablo 4 is an online action role-playing dungeon crawler game developed and released in 2023. It mainly continues the style of the previous games in the series, such as focusing on replayability, procedurally generated dungeons, and loot-focused character building, while also adopting new mechanisms for the series, including open world and player-versus-player battles.

The developer of Diablo 4 revealed in a recent live broadcast that the company plans to implement several quality of life changes in Season 7.

Ahead of the launch of Diablo 4’s patch 2.1 PTR, the developer showed the upcoming features and changes in Campfire Chat on November 21. The team previewed Armory, a system that will make it easier to save and swap Diablo 4 gear, as well as a number of adjustments to classes. The developers also highlighted other changes, including mechanics related to the game’s end-game events.

Paragon Migration

In the latest Campfire Chat, the developers pointed out that one quality of life change in Season 7 will affect Diablo 4’s Paragon Board, which allows players to customize their builds after reaching the game’s level cap.

All seasonal Paragons will be transferred to your Eternal Paragon, so if you want to get rewards at Paragon 300, you can do so by participating in seasonal events.

During events, Diablo 4 gold will no longer be a simple trading currency, but the core of gameplay. Players can collect special gold by defeating powerful enemies or completing event missions. This gold can be used to unlock rare treasure chests and obtain exclusive skins.

Diablo 4 Lead Live Game Designer Colin Finer explained that starting next season, all Paragon experience players earn in a season will be added to the player’s Eternal Realm progress. According to the development team, this Paragon experience migration mechanic should give players a chance to earn rewards from Eternal Realm without having to worry about seasonal grinding.

Ancestral Items Drop Rate Increased

What are Diablo 4 Ancestral items? These are the coveted loot variants you’ll find throughout Sanctuary and its many dungeons. They come with buffs, higher-than-normal status rolls, and item powers that are more powerful than any gear you’ve seen before.

You know you’ve got an Ancestral item when it has Ancestral at the end of the item name, and that suffix can appear on any item rarity, from common junk all the way up to coveted Diablo 4 uniques. They often have higher stats and better item powers than other items in RPG.

In the future, the drop rate of Ancestral Legendary items will also be significantly increased across all tiers of Diablo 4’s new Torment difficulty system. The higher drop rate should elevate the level of in-game activity without taking away from the exalted status of Ancestral Legendary items.

Unique Power Roll Updates

Unique effects now increase with item rarity, reducing the chances of getting low-value rolls. Unique power roll updates to reduce the chances of getting crappy 4 GA items.

Additionally, starting with Season 7, Ancestral Legendary items will be guaranteed to roll at the highest level of their Legendary Aspect tier. 

Other Quality Of Life Changes

Other quality-of-life changes include a Gem Fragment converter that creates Legendary items, and updates to class quests.

Updates To Class Quests

Diablo 4 Season 7 will turn Class Quests into universal unlocks, allowing players to skip Class Quests for new characters as long as they’ve completed them once. This change will hopefully make Diablo 4 less of a grind.

While Diablo 4 players will no longer have to repeat Class Quests starting next season, they may be tempted to do so anyway. That said, the developer also mentioned in the latest Campfire Chat broadcast that repeated Class Quests will soon start offering some new rewards. While the exact details of this change are still unclear, more details may emerge as the new season approaches.

Gem Fragment Conversion

The developers are making a qualitative change to Gem Fragments, starting with Diablo 4 Season 7. Gem Fragments will be able to be made into Legendary Rings and Amulets, and it is possible to obtain Ancestral Legendaries at higher difficulty levels.

The developers also proposed that they will adjust Gem Fragment drops in the next season to reduce their total amount and increase Gem Fragment conversions as compensation.

Although the next season of Diablo 4 has not yet been officially released, the update direction of its development team echoes the developer’s previously announced World of Warcraft expansion. 

For example, the upcoming Midnight and Last Titan, which will introduce new features such as the player housing system, is scheduled to be released in summer 2025, which also reflects the developer’s determination to enhance long-term operations through rich content and player interaction.
