Did you know these seven celebrities were bisexual?
If you identify as bisexual, you might well feel as if society has pushed you onto the back seat. Of all the initials covered by that LGBTQ acronym, it’s the ‘Bs’ who often feel misunderstood, or discover they face fewer opportunities to socialize with others on their wavelength! The good news is there is a thriving bisexual community to be found if you know where to look (you guessed it, online dating platforms). Not only that, bi celebs are increasingly finding the courage to speak out about their sexual orientation. Let’s investigate issues faced by bisexual women, especially those who tend towards female partners. And by way of promoting bisexuality and giving encouragement, how about a list of seven ‘bi celebs’ you might not even be aware of?
Issues with being bi
So, why should bisexuals face particularly stressful issues compared to other members of the LGBTQ community, let alone their straight counterparts? For one thing, they face far more misinformation and stereotyping. A common gripe amongst the less well-educated is that bi people are ‘greedy,’ and ‘not fussy.’ But if you’re someone who has ever asked the question, ‘Where might I find bisexual women near me?’ when going online, you’ll appreciate that there is nothing remotely greedy about the situation you find yourself in. Frequenters of bisexual dating apps and websites are generally pleasant and supportive community of people who know the struggles of offline dating. They prefer dating platforms for being on the same wavelength and ability to utilize all the perks of modern tech.
It’s important to underscore bisexuals tend to be fluid when it comes to the people they are attracted to. Females identifying in this way are just as likely to be drawn to males in due course. This has nothing to do with experimentation, either. We are all human, and some of us have different levels or stages of desire. One of the main problems faced by bi girls who have girlfriends but also occasional boyfriends is that straight males might be under the impression that they can somehow ‘change’ the female outlook by pressing the right buttons. This is just one of many myths the bi community have to put up with. Another poignant fact worth underlining is bisexuals typically suffer from mental health conditions such as depression and anxiety far more excessively than others. This is why it’s good to focus on bisexuals in the public eye, as this can be so empowering.

Celebrities and influencers may appear to inhabit a different world to the rest of us, but at the end of the day, they’re human, with real-life situations anyone will be able to identify with.
